Voice Room, L1, Strath Union , Glasgow
When we envision a decolonised university, what do we see?
Who are the students? Who are the teachers? What do we learn, and what do we unlearn?
What will the physical space feel like? How much will it cost to attend? How would decolonising the university impact student visas, student support, housing, and campaigning?
We'll be exploring this and lots more in the second part of our zine making session. All welcome, no previous attendance or knowledge required!
The Strath Decolonial Academy is a place of co-creation and collaboration. In this space, we hope to interrogate de/coloniality within the university, how this affects us, as well as how we might think, do, and be differently.
Join us for in-person meet-ups and planned engagement activities where we will share and discuss our experiences of power, belonging (and not belonging) within the university space. Help us create new words and visions for university life and culture as we build a digital archive of decolonial activity. Or, just come to make friends and community as we build solidarities across our inherent differences.
