The Scottish Designathon is a full-day collaborative event hosted by the Scottish Engineers Without Borders (EWB) university societies. This includes Glasgow, Edinbrugh, Heriot-Watt and Lancaster. Held at the University of Strathclyde, this event brings together students from all disciplines to tackle a real-world design brief.

The Road to the Finals
This event serves as the official qualifier for the Engineers Without Borders UK Championship.
Qualifiers: One team from each participating university chapter will win a spot at the Finals.
The Finals: Saturday, 7 March 2026, at the University of Birmingham.
Note: Competitive teams must be available to travel to Birmingham and be registered members of their university's EWB society.
Registration & Teams
You can sign up in two ways:
Individually: We will place you in a randomized team with other students from your university.
As a Team: Register with up to five members (only one form needs to be completed per team).
Essential Info
Location: University of Strathclyde, Glasgow (Fully accessible venue).
What to bring: A laptop or tablet is strongly recommended for design work.
