SUSO is a friendly and exciting student led orchestra made up of enthusiastic players of all abilities who enjoy playing music together! We look forwards to starting rehearsals in September 2022!
About us
We have weekly rehearsals during the semester, on Friday evenings from 17:15-19:15, and perform a concert at the end of each semester.
We are play a large selection of music, in a variety of styles, to suit everyone’s tastes and instruments
We are led by our conductor John Grant and supported every week by our four string tutors Bob Cairns (Violin 1), Eleanor Kennedy (Violin 2), Morag Currie (Viola) and Rosie Townhill (Cello). We also have some sectionals rehearsals where we also have additional Woodwind, Brass and Percussion tutors.
Players are welcome to join us at any time. There are no auditions so if you enjoy playing music with others and are willing to give the music ago, then we would love for you to join us. Students from all institutions are welcome to join us.
