About

The Medieval Society aims to learn about and recreate parts of medieval life. We have regular combat training and authentic crafting sessions.
We engage in medieval combat and crafting at our weekly sessions.
Our combat is a pulled-blow system, and we'll train you up from using our wooden weapons to wielding real steel. Just remember to bring along some gloves for protection and water for hydration.
Our members take part in a variety of medieval crafts, including:
- Naalbinding
- Woodworking
- Sewing/Tailoring
- Leatherwork
- Maile Making
We will encourage new members to start making their own medieval clothing, so they can attend reenactment events during the summer.
The Strathclyde Medieval Society is a part of Britannia XIV, a Scotland-wide reenactment group focusing on life in the 14th century.
Membership for the year costs £10, which covers practice equipment and insurance for our sessions and for the events in summer.
Hope to see you at one of our sessions!
