We will meet at Strathclyde Sport at 8am on Tuesday, 19th of May, and return late on Thursday, 21rd May.
You must have attended multiple pool sessions and at least 2 either river trips or pinkston sessions in semester 2. Having at least one roll on whitewater is advisable before booking on. No Refunds or exchanges under any circumstances! If you buy the wrong ticket it will be cancelled, without a refund!
To attend you must have Sports Union, Canoe (free) and Paddle Scotland (free) Memberships (info posts on this on strathcanoe instagram - any queries please ask). Please complete medical form (on linktree) and make sure dietary preferences are up to date!
You must have attended two pool sessions and done a swim test and wet exit! This is non negotionable!
Now for the fun stuff: We'll be headed to Fort William to give you a once in a lifetime (not actually but it'll be awesome) experience of whitewater and river kayaking, we provide all the equipment and transport. Meet at 8am at Strathclyde Sport,Tuesday the 19th of May!
Rivers are subject to water conditions but expect a great week of kayaking!
Included:
- All transport
- All kayaking equipment
- Accomodation Roybridge hall(town hall and we will be sleeping on the floor) (showers and toilets)
- Tuesday, Wednesday Dinner, and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Breakfast. All lunches and snacks will need to be sorted by yourself! We will go to Fort William for dinner on Thursday night (choice of takeaway, restaurants or wetherspoons)
- River Leading and Safety
You bring:
- Old trainers to wear on the water
- Swim stuff to wear under wetsuit (2 to be interchangable advised)
- Towel
- Warm, dry clothes for when off the river, does not matter that its summer, we're in scotland
- Sun cream and sunglasses/hat
- Lunches and snacks and water bottles
- Sleeping bag and mat/ camp bed/ air mattress and pillow (if you don't have this please message group chat as some people have spares. Decathlon and mountain warehouse are good options if you want to buy)
- Decent shoes for exploring and watching saftey do stupid shit
- Booze for the evenings (or non-alcoholic drinks)
