Dr Deveney will be chatting about what it’s really like interviewing celebrities, sharing stories from her career and offering tips on how to ask the right questions and get great quotes. She’ll also talk about why joining the NUJ can be helpful for student journalists, from support and networking to opportunities in the industry.
Dr Deveney is an award-winning journalist, teacher, trainer and novelist who has worked across the UK media landscape in both newspapers and television. Alongside journalism, she’s also a teacher, trainer and novelist.
There will be plenty of time for a Q&A, so bring your questions, whether they’re about journalism careers, interviews, or getting started in the industry.
And yes, there’s a bonus: the Journalism, Media and Communication faculty is supporting the event with free pizza.
So, if you’re studying journalism, media or just enjoy writing for the Strathclyde Telegraph, come along, grab some pizza and hear from someone who’s been there and done it.
