In this workshop, you will be working with VP Inclusion to develop strategies and plans for your manifesto in time for the election nomination in late February, as well as learn about what different roles available entail and will have a chance to ask questions!

What is a sabbatical officer?

The sabbatical officer is a full-time, paid opportunity where you take a year out of your study to develop leadership skills and gain work experience in the Strathclyde Students' Union. The University will provide you a student visa extension if you are an international student.

As an officer, you will represent all Strathclyde students and help to raise their voices to high-level committees and support them by creating events, making and changing policies, leading campaigns, and building meaningful connections. You will also be able to attend events and conferences around the UK. You will be working with the Senior Management Team at the Union and the Principal and his Executive Team at the University. You will get support from the Union's full-time staff on your projects. The Diverse Leadership Programme is also one of the projects I started (and hopefully will be returning) during my term as Officer. It is the most creative and flexible job with various work you will be involved in.
